I have been looking forward to The Great Photo Voyage for months and it absolutely did not disappoint. So much so, the next one is already in the works!
But first, let me tell you how incredible this first voyage was!
So, while at port, we went on color walks. This was SO MUCH FUN. Everyone was assigned a color and had the challenge of finding picture opportunities that included that color. The goal was simply to see how different each of us see the world (and have fun taking pictures!)

Then we did an epic photo scavenger hunt. This was NOT easy, but so cool that everyone wanted to participate. From “a piece of cake on the floor” to “a photo with a person named Robert” there was some serious competition to be the first to finish!
And on our days at sea, we held classes focused on something that almost everyone there admitted had been weighing on them for years: what to do with all of the photos they already have.
My co-host, Mollie from Pixologie, has spent the past decade working full time helping people organize both their print and digital photo collections, so she knew exactly how to simplify what feels incredibly overwhelming for so many people. Again and again, we heard from participants that this was the first time organizing their photos actually felt doable. Instead of leaving with more guilt about what they hadn’t done yet, they left with a plan.

Between photo walks and workshops we bounced around the ship doing the fun things you can only do on a cruise ship. I loved being part of a group, so there was always someone to hang out with. From a chill night at the piano bar with one half of the group to a show with the other half… And of course the night we were out dancing, I think the unplanned, getting to know fellow picture people parts might actually have been my favorite with the group!

The feedback from this group was amazing. People told us they felt more confident, less overwhelmed by their collections, and genuinely excited to start going through their photos when they got back.
By the end of the trip, the question we kept hearing was, “When can we do this again?”
So… we’re doing it again.
The next Great Photo Voyage is already in the works, and I can’t wait to share more details soon. Make sure you are getting my email newsletter so you are the first to hear about this next Great Photo Voyage!
