Meet fellow Picture Person, Krista Kowalczyk
Hi there. I’m Krista K.
I’m a photographer, author, educator, and lifelong Picture Person. And if you found your way here, there’s a good chance you are too.
If you are a Picture Person like me, you are the person who understands that photographs are more than pictures. They are proof that a moment mattered. You’re likely told you take “too many” photos. And you are the one who holds on to all of the old pictures too.
You understand something many people don’t: Some photographs become priceless over time.
And for most of my life, I assumed everyone felt that way.
For more than 30 years, I’ve worked as a professional photographer in Southwest Florida, photographing weddings, families, and life stories. I’ve photographed more than 1,500 weddings and thousands of portrait sessions, but over time my work grew into something much bigger than photography itself.
After Hurricane Ian devastated my community in 2022, I watched people search through debris for family photographs they feared were gone forever.
That experience changed me.
It made me realize how many people deeply love their memories but have never been taught how to truly protect them.
So now my mission is simple:
To help every Picture Person organize, protect, preserve, and enjoy the photos that matter most.
Today, this community is made up of people from all over the world who care deeply about photographs and memories.
People who want to save their family history.
People who feel overwhelmed by years of digital photos.
People who understand that ordinary pictures often become the most important ones we have.
This space exists to give those people the tools, guidance, and encouragement they deserve.
Because caring deeply about photographs is a beautiful quality.
