What is the agenda for the event?
Seeing as we have people coming from outside of Ft Myers I’ve arranged to have a meet up on Wednesday January 17th for one hour in the evening. That is going to be a good time to get to know each other. I’m happy to answer any photo questions and discuss any photographs you have brought for the workshop.
It’s down to business on Thursday, January 18th! We will start at 10am with classroom style education. We will chat about methods for scanning, organizing, adding metadata/information and backing up your photographs. We will also learn easy ways to keep up with your phone photo organizing going forward and how to create a heritage folder so your pictures can easily be passed down for generations. All of it will be presented in a simplified way and then done together to make sure everyone has a great handle on how to do each step.
Lunch is included. Then it’s back to work! There is a tech person joining us to offer some great phone tips too. Then it’s all hands on! We will work together to scan photographs that you have brought. We can work on organizing and backing up your phone photographs too.
This hands on work continues into Friday, January 19th. If you have more pictures to scan or need more one on one guidance that time is reserved for just that.
What pictures can I bring?
Bring it all! Old print pictures, slides, negatives, shoe boxes of pictures, the pictures you inherited and the ones you aren’t sure what to do with. Even an old phone and a random flash drive. We will work in teams to get your pictures organized. We will work through as much as we can in the time we have together.
There will be scanners, computers and flash drives available. Each person will leave with a flash drive filled with their own photographs.
Will there be an online course available or recording to view?
At this time, no. This is intended to be very hands on. Perhaps in the future that may be added. Make sure you are on the email list to be the first to know about that. Email sign up.
