It’s important that you keep your pictures stored in multiple locations. I suggest one of those locations is an external hard drive in your home. An external hard drive allows you to have pictures easily accessible to your computer without bogging down the computer itself. Here are three great options for external hard drives!
This desktop external hard drive is the one I use. I actually own dozens of them! I’ve found they are easy to use and reliable.
Another type of hard drive that is a great option is an SSD drive. This type of hard drive has no moving parts inside of it, making it less prone to breaking. However, they are generally more expensive. Note, this SSD drive is similarly priced, however it has one third the capacity of the first hard drive I shared, meaning it holds significantly less photographs.
And for portable hard drives, this is the one I use. Portable hard drives are generally less reliable so you DEFINITELY want to have pictures in other places too, however the ease of using this one on the go and ability to connect it to a phone does make it a great option. I’ve had nothing be great luck with mine!
And one bonus storage option! If you need tiny on the go storage, a flash drive will always do the trick. Here is the one that I use:
If you love taking pictures, it’s important that you have a safe backup copy of your photos! I suggest using an external hard drive as your main hub for ALL of your pictures. From scans of old pictures to every year of digital photos. Having them all in one place is the safest and most organized method to maintain your personal pictures!
